"Keeping the prints that touch you so deeply,
close to your heart"

At seven years old I decided I wanted to be a veterinarian. I remember watching a PBS show called Arthur who started his own pet business. I told my parents I wanted a dog and that I was going to earn the money by having my own pet business. It's hard to say the exact event that made me decide I wanted to be a Veterinarian. Almost every moment of my life I pursued or was involved in something animal related. The last 17 years has been spent sharing and dedicating my life to animals. When I was seven years old I started my own pet business. Although most of the dogs I watched towered over me I knew that they were happier in their own home with constant attention than stuck at a noisy cold kennel. At 10 I knew the animals at the shelter around the holidays were lonely and longing for attention so I baked them treats and handed them out to each one. At 13 I began fostering kittens that were too sick or too young to be adopted out so I cuddled them and nursed them back to health. Through out high school I made a point to immerse myself in every science course I could take luckily including a Veterinary Science course and centered any research opportunity to involve a topic on animals. By 21 I completed a 300-hour unpaid internship under three veterinarians with different practicing styles. With the time I had in-between I completed research projects on Spatial vs. Memory Learning in pet rats which was presented at both a my high school’s science fair as well as one at Franklin and Marshall College, Purebred Cats, Breeding and Overpopulation and even presented a project entitled Affects of Altruistic Motives on Guilt Appeal and Likelihood of Cat Adoption Based on Personality Profile at the Eastern Psychological Association conference in Boston Massachusetts as well as at Kutztown University. In college, although I was involved in running the school yearbook all four years and activities for my sorority, instead of partying I read books on animal nutrition or veterinary magazines. After each experience I was even more intrique by the world of animals and only thirsty for more.
In 2015 I took on a part time job as a demo represenative for Nutrisource Pet Food, a very nutritious brand of dog and cat food. Within six months of working for this company I learned a plethora of information about proper animal nutrition and how it is one of the most basic foundations you can provide for your companion to live a healthy and happy life. This job inspired me to read several books on nutrition. I instantly fell in love with the topic and immediately saw the importance and need for animal nutrition. Although I refocused into a more specific topic of animal care never the less my passion has never dwindled.
In the meanwhile in school to aquire my certifications I continue to promote my passion of animal care with my love for art through Precious Paw Prints. You may have noticed that through the website that I talk about Sebastion. Sebastion was one of those tuxedo cats, a pretty cool dude. He was our family cat for 15 years and he lived a wonderful life of exploring the outdoors, tasty foods and treats and lots of toys and love. Unfortunately at the age of 15 we discovered after nine teeth were pulled during a dentistry at the vet that Sebastion had kidney failure. This was tough. He was in the hospital for days with no improvement, so after a week we brought him home to say our good byes. He had become thin, his body secreted poisons that his kidneys never filtered and he wasn’t his normal loving self. I remember kissing him goodbye before heading to school on December 15, 2008. When I got home he had been put to sleep and passed on to Cat Heaven.
At this point I decided to create a forever memory of Sebastion. My mother, Holly Gage, being a well-known jewelry artist showed me some techniques and helped me create the first Precious Paw Print. All thanks to Sebastion I have created a business that can help other owners commemorate their pets both present and pasted on like I have for my family with Sebastion.
